Significance
Despite recent developments in metal-catalyzed cycloisomerization of 1,6-enynes (see Review below), only few asymmetric variants were reported. Previously, the authors utilized a diene and phosphine ligand combination to affect enantioselectivity in this reaction (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2010, 49, 1638). In this work, the authors report a tridentate diene-phosphine ligand that stabilizes the catalytically active cationic rhodium to improve scope and ee.
