Significance
The authors disclose a copper-catalyzed coupling between peptidic thiols and α-alkoxyalkylstannanes. The method is mild and allows the use of substrates which are capable of isomerization under harsher conditions. This work is significant, because methods generating copper thiolate intermediates typically require addition of other reagents capable of regenerating the active catalyst.
