Significance

The authors disclose an efficient and straightforward protocol for the preparation of a new nitroso reagent. These are used in oxidation reactions of silyl enol ethers affording keto oximes in high yield. The oxidizing agent is triisopropyl silyl nitrite which is generated in situ from silver nitrite and triisopropylsilyl chloride.
