Abstract

Summary

Tumescent anaesthesia is a widley accepted anaesthetic procedure for the surgery of varicous veins. In our institution tumescent anaesthesia is regularly combined with femoral nerve block or sciatic nerve block for primary operations of the great saphenous vein (GSV) or small saphenous vein (SSV).

This combined procedure is described. Retrospective data of 154 operations of the GSV and of 27 operations of the SSV are presented. We used 9.5 mg/kg body weight of prilocain for operations of the GSV and 8.6 mg/kg body weight for operations of the SSV. No serious complications occurred.

Zusammenfassung

Die Tumeszenzanästhesie ist ein etabliertes Anästhesieverfahren für die Varizenchirurgie. In unserer Klinik wird die Tumeszenzanästhesie für primäre Operationen der V. saphena magna oder parva regelhaft mit einer Blockade des N. femoralis bzw. des N. ischiadicus kombiniert.

Dieses kombinierte Verfahren wird vorgestellt und die retrospektiven Daten von 154 Operationen der V. saphena magna und von 27 Operationen der V. saphena parva werden präsentiert. Im Mittel wurden 9,5 mg/kg Körpergewicht Prilocain für die Magna-Operationen und 8,6 mg/kg Körpergewicht Prilocain für die Parva-Operationen eingesetzt. Schwer wiegende Komplikationen traten nicht auf.

Résumé

La chirurgie par tumescence est une procédure devenue classique pour la chirurgie des varices. Dans notre clinique, l’anesthésie par tumescence pour une première opération concernant la veine grande saphène ou la petite saphène est la règle avec un blocage du nerf fémoral ou combiné avec un bloc sciatique.

Cette combinaison s’appuie sur des données rétrospectives de 154 opérations concernant la grande saphène et 27 opérations pour la petite saphène. Pour ce type d’anesthésie, on a utilisé de la Prilocaïne à raison de 9,5 mg/kg de poids corporel en moyenne pour la grande saphène et 8,6 mg/kg de poids corporel pour la petite saphène. Nous n’avons pas observé de complications graves.
