Peptide Chemistry
CDMT-Mediated Peptide Synthesis
Significance
The development of efficient, racemization-free methods for peptide synthesis is highly demanded in the peptide industry. In 1987, Kamiński invented 2-chloro-4,6-dimethoxy-1,3,5-triazine as an efficient coupling reagent for peptide synthesis.

Comment
A series of di-, tri-, and pentapeptides were synthesized by coupling for N-protected amino acids or corresponding peptides with amino acid ester or peptides. This protocol uses mild conditions and proceeds without concomitant racemization.
