Significance

(-)-Neodysiherbaine is an agonist of AMPA-KA-type glutamate receptors and displays anticonvulsant activity. Key to this synthesis is the Negishi coupling of vinyl iodide D and functionalized organozinc reagent E using Pd(0) cata­lysis.
