Significance
The authors report an oxidative C-H bond functionalization of vinyl oxazolidinones. This work is derived from the authors’ earlier studies on DDQ-oxidative C-H bond cleavage (i.e. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2009, 48, 4567). A variety of tethered nucleophiles can be used to add to an intermediate acyliminium ion with high efficiency.
