Significance
The authors report the reaction of allylic alcohols with aldimines. This work follows the group’s earlier exploration of alkylations of allylic alcohols using the Kulinkovich reagent (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2008, 130, 15997). The scope of the reaction is decent and the products are obtained in moderate to good yields with excellent diastereoselectivity achieved when using Z-alkenes.
