One-Pot Stereoselective Synthesis of α-Fluoroacrylates from Aldehydes and Ketones

Significance

A stereoselective one-pot synthesis of α-fluoroacrylates is reported. Hereby, ethyl dibromofluoroacetate is converted into the corresponding enolate via bromine-zinc exchange. The latter is reacted with carbonyl derivatives furnishing the expected α-fluoroacrylates with moderate to good yields and excellent stereoselectivities.
