Significance
The catalytic activity of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) (12 examples) for the reduction of alkenes and alkynes in the presence of hydrazine was investigated. Chemoselective reduction of C-C bonds was successfully achieved by using Al2(bdc)3 (bdc = p-benzenedicarboxylate) to give the corresponding saturated products (18 examples, 30-94% yield, 20-100% conversion) under optimized reaction conditions.
