Significance
The ligand-free Ullmann arylation of indole with aryl halides was performed with a PEG3400-Cu2O-Cs2CO3 system. The coupling reaction was carried out in a high molecular weight PEG matrix as a solvent. The catalytic composite PEG3400-Cu2O-Cs2CO3 was recovered by precipitation with Et2O.
