Expeditive Synthesis of Rigid-Rod Oligopiperidines

Significance

Straightforward, stepwise syntheses of well-defined oligopiperidines, starting from simple building blocks have been developed for both convergent solution-phase and divergent solid-phase approaches. The resulting oligomers behave as rigid rods with high persistence lengths, even at elevated temperatures.
