Significance
An efficient Cu(II)-mediated N-cyclopropylation of indoles, cyclic amides and benzamide with cyclopropylboronic acid under aerobic conditions is described in this report. The reaction tolerates various sensitive functional groups such as nitro and ester functionalities. The reaction can be carried out with stoichiometric or catalytic amounts of Cu(OAc)2 depending on the nature of the substrate.
