Significance

The Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction is a powerful tool in organic synthesis. Herein, the authors report the Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indoles with γ,δ-unsaturated β-keto phosphonates catalyzed by palladium in high yields and selectivities.
