Significance
Silica gel-supported calcium complexes SiO2-1 and SiO2-2, bearing DMAT and N(TMS)2 ligands, were prepared. Thus, Aerosil 380 silica gel was heated at 700 ˚C under vacuum to give the partially dehydrated silica gel (PD-SiO2). Surface treatment of PD-SiO2 with Ca(DMAT)2˙2THF (1) and Ca[N(TMS)2]2˙2THF (2) afforded SiO2-1 and SiO2-2, respectively. Both complexes were applied to the hydrosilylation of alkene (eq. 1), intramolecular hydroamination (eq. 2), and the polymerization of styrene (eq. 3).
